Feddy is designed with privacy at its core. Your photos, reactions, and memories stay on your device. We don't upload, store, or share your personal data.

Data We DO Collect

Device Information (Anonymous)

Device ID (for purchase verification only)
Platform type (iOS)
App version number
Total number of rated moments (for free tier limit enforcement)

This minimal data is stored securely and used only to:

Verify in-app purchases
Prevent abuse of the free tier limit
Provide technical support if requested

In-App Purchases

If you purchase the Unlimited upgrade, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only a transaction ID to verify your purchase. Apple's privacy policy governs payment information.

Local Storage

All your photos, reactions, reels, and preferences are stored locally on your device using:

SQLite database (for moments and reactions)
Local file storage (for audio recordings and reels)
iOS secure storage (for purchase verification)

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export a reel and share it elsewhere.

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat - Used for in-app purchase management. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

Firebase - Used only for anonymous device verification to prevent abuse. No personal data is collected.

Photo Access

Feddy requests permission to access your photo library to display photos for rating. This access is read-only and happens entirely on your device. Photos are never uploaded to any server.

Photo Analysis and Face Detection

Feddy uses Apple's on-device Vision Framework to analyze photos you select from your library. This helps create better video compositions by:

Detecting the presence and location of faces in photos
Automatically framing and focusing on people in your photos (Ken Burns effect)
Prioritizing photos with faces when you request AI-assisted photo selection

What Face Data We Collect:

Face count (number of faces detected in a photo)
Face bounding box coordinates (position and size of faces within the photo)

What We Do NOT Collect:

Facial recognition data or biometric identifiers
Face prints, templates, or any data that could identify individuals
Any personally identifiable information from faces

How Face Data is Used:

Face detection data is used solely to enhance your video slideshows by automatically zooming and panning to keep faces centered and visible. This is face detection (presence and location), not face recognition (identity).

Storage and Sharing:

All face detection processing occurs entirely on your device using Apple's Vision Framework
Face count and location coordinates are cached locally in the app's database on your device only
This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any servers or third parties
Face data is automatically deleted when you remove photos from the app or uninstall the app

Children's Privacy

Feddy does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The app is intended for general audiences.

Your Rights

You can:

Delete the app and all local data at any time
Request deletion of your device ID from our records
Contact us with privacy questions or concerns

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
